Research Labs

Device and Usability Learning Lab (DULL)

The Device & Usability Learning Lab combines the concept of an open device lab with a usability research facility. It provides a unique learning environment for ASU faculty, staff, and students. The Lab also hosts community workshops, tutoring and outreach for K-12 students.

Device and Usability Learning Lab (CRUX)

The CRUX Lab is an interdisciplinary inquiry environment specializing in UX and communication design insight and strategy.The lab specializes in communication and user experience research and is positioned to serve as a community resource.

Automation Design Advancing People and Technology (ADAPT) Laboratory

The ADAPT lab focuses on human-computer interaction, trust in automation, human-agent cooperation in complex systems, resilience engineering, health systems engineering, interruptions, medical devices.

User Experience Laboratory (X Lab)

The X Lab focuses on user experience, product design, healthcare human factors, aviation and consumer psychology.

Cognitive-Based Applied Learning Technology (CoBALT) Laboratory

The CoBALT lab conducts research at the interdisciplinary intersection of human cognition, learning sciences, and technology to provide research based training and learning solutions for applied settings.

Sustainable Learning and Adaptive Technology for Education Laboratory (SLATE)

The Sustainable Learning and Adaptive Technology for Education (SLATE) Lab studies how computer-based tools can support effective learning processes and strategies. The lab focuses on self-regulated and self-directed learning in authentic settings, deep learning experiences, adaptive educational technologies, learning with real-world impact.
