Henry Courtright

Executive Consultant for Salt River Project

Hank Courtright serves as an executive consultant for the Salt River Project (SRP) and provides strategic consulting in the areas of corporate strategy, technology innovation, sustainability and electric transportation. Courtright joined SRP in 2017 after a 24 year career with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). He led SRP’s development of their carbon reduction plan, including expansion of solar and energy storage projects. He has also worked with the SRP teams to develop a new approach to innovation and technology management to enable SRP to effectively utilize new technologies and sustain its long history of excellence in serving customers and communities.

At EPRI, one of the largest R&D organizations in the world, Courtright served in numerous executive leadership roles in both the business and technology sectors. He was the senior vice president for global strategy and external relations, guiding EPRI’s corporate strategy and overseeing EPRI’s engagements with utilities around the world. He also served as the vice president for two of EPRI’s technology sectors, environment and energy analysis and power generation. Courtright was a technical director in the energy efficiency and electric transportation programs. He also worked closely with EPRI’s technical teams on distributed energy resource (DER) integration and communications, as well as physical and cybersecurity.

Courtright received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Lehigh University. He is a graduate of the nuclear reactor program from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a licensed professional engineer in California.
