Weekly workshops begin 20 Aug, 2018 and will run up to finals week.
About the Innovation Hub
Covered from floor to ceiling in whiteboards, the Innovation Hub provides students with ample room to dream big, new ideas and create plans to make those ideas happen. The space also allows students the room and tools they need to prototype and build creative projects and features equipment that includes a ShopBot 3D wood router, Epilog Laser engraver, 3D printers, a vinyl cutter, and a variety of hand tools, among other equipment. A safety and training program educates users on how to utilize equipment. A revamped 15,000 sq. ft. warehouse space outfitted with prototyping equipment, as well as cool and funky furniture is a unique space in our Technology Center building that opened in 2012 and continues to be enhanced and remodeled to meet student collaboration needs.
Innovation Hub Equipment
Any equipment not listed in our ‘workshop’ area (such as Vacuum Former, Sewing Machine, and 3D Scanner) requires a special appointment. Please email email@example.com to schedule.
Training is required for all faculty, staff and students who would like to use the equipment above. Get started by registering for a training workshop. All users of the Lab’s prototyping equipment must complete training before they may be granted access to use it. Any Polytechnic School student, faculty or staff can register for a training workshop. Training workshops provide the opportunity to learn how to use equipment, including safety procedures. Once trained, students, faculty and staff can proceed with using the prototyping equipment with minimal supervision.
Please note: Many Innovation Hub users want to enroll in workshops, so please do not abuse the ability to register. If you can’t attend a workshop you’ve registered for, please cancel your registration at least 24 hours in advance. Failing to cancel a workshop registration 24 hours in advance and/or no-showing more than three times will result in a 1 semester workshop registration suspension. You will not be allowed to register for any workshops for the remainder of the semester.
Innovation Hub offers a variety of raw materials for purchase. These materials can be purchased through your ASU account. To make a purchase, simply talk with a Startup Labs staff member. Your ASU student ID card will be used to charge your student account accordingly.
