Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

Selective Laser Sintering is a powder based printing technology that uses a laser to sinter plastic powder together into an object one layer at a time. Our machine is the EOS Formiga p110 which specializes in printing with PA 2200 Nylon powder. The unique aspect of this printing technology is that the powder material is self-supporting. This allows for the creation of complex prints without having to worry about creating and removing support material. Extra powder from the build can be recycled at the powder sifting station by sifting out the large chucks and mixing in new powder in the appropriate ratio. The final part is a strong nylon plastic capable of being used in most room temperature applications.
