Everyone who works or recreates outdoors in Arizona during the summer is familiar with our intense heat and the potential for developing a heat related illness. The class may serve as a refresher for persons who have previously received training on heat stress. The class provides basic awareness level information needed to enable individual heat related illness prevention and for supervisors of employees.  Attendees will learn how to:

  • Recognize symptoms of heat stress illness
  • Administer first aid for heat stress
  • Prevent heat stress
  • Design a basic workplace heat related illness plan
  • Utilize technology, information sources and personal protective equipment
