Innovation Hub

What is the Innovation Hub?

A 15,000-square-foot 3D printing research center — the largest additive manufacturing facility in the southwestern United States — is located right here on Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus.

Students who work on projects in the Innovation Hub have access to more than $2 million worth of plastic, polymer and metal 3D printing technologies that supports a wide range of research, material and process development and educational training. This equipment includes:

  • ShopBot 3D wood router
  • Epilog laser engravers
  • Universal laser engravers
  • 3D printers
  • Vinyl cutter
  • Hand tools
  • Prototyping equipment
  • Sewing and embroidery
  • Workshops and workspaces

Enroll in a training workshop

Training is required for all ASU faculty, staff and students who would like to use the lab equipment. Enrolling for training workshops is easy. Click below and scroll down to the “workshops” to get started.

Before you make a reservation, training is required.

Training is required for all faculty, staff and students who would like to use the lab equipment in the Innovation Hub.

Any ASU faculty, staff or student can register for a training workshop. Training workshops provide the opportunity to learn how to use the equipment safely. Once trained, you can proceed with using the equipment with minimal supervision. The Innovation Hub staff is always available for assistance, so please don’t hesitate to reach out.

If you cannot attend a workshop once you’ve enrolled, please cancel your registration at least 24 hours in advance.

Many Innovation Hub patrons enroll in workshops, so having space for everyone is important. Failing to cancel a workshop registration 24 hours in advance and/or no-showing more than three times will result in a 1-semester workshop registration suspension. Thank you for your cooperation!
