The EESD program prepares our graduates for careers in higher education, science centers, government agencies, museums, policy-setting institutions, and industry. Join us for the 2021 EESD Virtual Open House to learn how you can become an exemplary scholar dedicated to transforming the engineering education ecosystem. Activities will include getting to know ASU and the EESD program; meeting faculty, current students, and alumni; and learning about research opportunities at ASU.

Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree in engineering (or a closely related field) prior to being eligible to apply for matriculation into the EESD PhD program. See the EESD Handbook for more information.
Personalized PhD experience
Students have the flexibility to choose graduate-level courses that support their research interests and career aspirations. This includes completing core, elective, and research-related coursework. See the EESD Handbook for more information.

Funding Your PhD
Students have a variety of mechanisms available to them to fund their PhD, including fellowships, scholarships, research assistantships, and teaching assistantships. See the EESD Handbook for more information.
